Projects
Rebecca Powell graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art, with a BFA in Interdisciplinary Sculpture.
She is a working artist who taught high school art in Maryland.
Powell worked with what she had in order to transfer meaningful skills to her students.
As an exit ticket, while teaching color theory, she had students demonstrate what they learned of color theory and made it into a classroom set of wings.
When teaching photography, she taught perspective, the elements of art, and the principles of design using materials found in the classroom.

Pheonix Farms Mural, 2022
In 2022, the owner of Phoenix Farms asked me to take her logo (created by another artist), alter it so it’s wings were spread, then paint it exactly as it looks onto a barn door that was a family heirloom. I was nervous to be tasked with such an important project, but I took the responsibility seriously and enjoyed the process of creating something that has a meaningful place in their home.
